Akshay Kumar CONFIRMS doing Prithviraj Chauhan biopic; says ‘An honour to play one of the most fearless kings

Most of the Bollywood stars like to kick start their birthday celebrations by jetting off to some exotic destination with their loved ones and speaking of this, Akshay Kumar made his way to London to ring in his 52nd birthday with his wife Twinkle Khanna and kids, Aarav and Nitara. The Khiladi Kumar also put an end to speculations about him doing Yash Raj Films’ Prithviraj Chauhan biopic by announcing the same on his birthday as a treat for all his fans across the globe. 

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the Mission Mangal star confirmed starring in Yash Raj Films’ historical project based on the life of one of the bravest rulers in the history of India, Pritviraj Chauhan. The actor confirmed it is titled Prithviraj. Akshay mentioned that he was delighted and honoured to be playing one of the most courageous characters on screen in the upcoming project. The 52 year old actor also did a historical war film this year Kesari and spoke about Prithviraj Chauhan biopic in the interview as well. Akshay called Prithviraj Chauhan ‘ true Indian hero, an inspiration for generations and a legend,’ as it was his bravery that stopped Mohammad Ghori and his early invasion.

Akshay stated that by doing a film on Prithviraj III, he and the makers want to bring to light stories about his courage and valour. The birthday boy said, “It is truly an honour that I will be playing one of the most fearless and courageous kings of India. As a nation, we should always celebrate our heroes and immortalise what they did to propagate the values that Indians lived by. It’s our attempt to bring to light Chauhan’s valour and daredevilry.” Akshay further added that the news of the film coming out on his birthday is extremely special for him.
